If you were to peek into my dresser, you would see I’m a huge fan of the American Apparel V-neck tee (and with multiples in each color and wash, “fan” might be a nice way of putting it.) The v-neck is just low enough, the fabric is soft, and the price is awesome. It’s almost the perfect t-shirt for me… Almost.
Working in downtown and living in LA, we are definitely a living product of the “west coast lifestyle,” often by necessity. That means falling into a jeans and t-shirt uniform that is typical of ol’ laid back California, but not necessarily fulfilling for the designer’s soul. We were longing for that one great t-shirt or tank in our closet that would see us through work in the studio, but also felt special enough to wear out at night. It had to be just a tad worn in and super soft, a bit sheer and sexy, and one that can go from jeans to leggings, and then back to our favorite dolan skirt…
Then we realized, “Hey, we make clothes for a living!” so adding the perfect collection of super special t-shirts, tanks, cardigans, was completely possible! The sketching for LEFT COAST by dolan began, and before we knew it we had soft jersey tanks, tees, leggings, and cardigans in a satisfyingly neutral color palette. Each piece has its own unique and forward shape, incorporating figure flattering seaming, sheer paneling, and draping. And the best part of the line is that it is actually affordable while being creative – all retailing under $80! So now we can have our dolan and LEFT COAST too!
Just wondering if there is anywhere on earth I can still find this top with shoulder cut-outs (top pic) in a large size, preferably in black? Please say it’s not impossible! Thanks
